Dr. John-Paul Carpenter

Dr. John-Paul Carpenter brings his considerable expertise in cardiology to Mubadala Health Dubai, having joined in April 2023 as a Consultant Cardiologist. He graduated with an MBBS from the United Medical and Dental Schools of Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospitals, London, supplementing his medical training with a BSc (Hons) in Neuroscience from the University of London. Dr. Carpenter's research acumen was further honed at Imperial College, London, where he was awarded his higher research degree.

Dr. Carpenter’s extensive career in the UK spanned over a decade, including roles at the Royal Brompton & Harefield NHS Foundation Trust and University Hospitals, Dorset. He is distinguished in his field by his specialization in cross-sectional cardiac imaging, holding Level 3 European (EACVI) and US (SCMR) certifications in Cardiac MRI and EACVI certification in Cardiac CT. His expertise extends to advanced diagnostic procedures such as transesophageal echocardiography (TEE), stress echocardiography, treadmill testing, and Holter analysis, offering comprehensive non-invasive assessments of heart function.

Among his accolades, Dr. Carpenter was awarded the Imperial College NHLI Thesis Prize for Best Clinical Thesis in 2012 and has received multiple awards for his contributions to cardiac imaging and research. His commitment to excellence is further evidenced by his accreditations, including the British Society of Echocardiography accreditation for Adult Transthoracic Echocardiography.
