Dr. Ursula Anita Rolef

Biography

Dr. Ursula Anita Rolef is a highly experienced Consultant Gastroenterologist with more than 30 years of clinical experience in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology across Germany and the United Arab Emirates. She is recognized for her comprehensive diagnostic approach, advanced ultrasound expertise, and patient-centered management of both functional and complex gastrointestinal conditions.

Dr. Rolef earned her Doctor of Medicine (MD) from the University of Hamburg, Germany, followed by a Residency in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology at the Evangelical Amalie Sieveking Hospital, a teaching hospital of the University of Hamburg, Germany.
Her doctoral work focused on the diagnostic evaluation and management of patients with ductus-dependent congenital heart disease, reflecting her strong academic foundation and multidisciplinary medical expertise. She later served as a Consultant in the Gastroenterology Department in Hamburg, where she played an active role in training registrars in advanced endoscopy procedures, abdominal and intestinal ultrasound, endoscopic ultrasound (EUS), and interventional techniques.

Dr. Rolef was also instrumental in the planning and establishment of a daycare surgery center for endoscopy procedures in Dubai and was among the first physicians in the region to introduce intestinal bowel ultrasound examinations for both adults and children, significantly advancing non-invasive gastrointestinal diagnostics.

Before joining Mubadala Health Dubai, Dr. Rolef was the Co-Founder of a private Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology clinic in Hamburg, Germany. She later practiced in Dubai as a Consultant in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology at HealthBay. Dr. Rolef currently continues her clinical practice in Hamburg, where she leads a private Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology clinic.
