Dr. Suhel Ashraff is a highly experienced and skilled Consultant Endocrinologist with over 10 years of experience in his field.
Dr. Ashraff graduated from the Armed Forces Medical College, Pune, India, after which he pursued specialized training in endocrinology and diabetes mellitus. He completed his training at Health Education England, working across Northeast England. Dr. Ashraff holds a dual Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in Endocrinology, Diabetes and Internal Medicine. He also obtained a specialty certificate in endocrinology and diabetes from the Federation of Royal Colleges of Physicians of the United Kingdom.
Dedicated to furthering his knowledge, Dr. Ashraff obtained a Masters in Diabetes from Queen Margaret University in Edinburgh, UK. Additionally, he holds a Ph.D., obtained through a collaborative effort between Queen Margaret University, Edinburgh University, and Edinburgh Royal Infirmary, UK. As a testament to his expertise, Dr. Ashraff is a Fellow of The Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow (UK), The Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh (UK), and the Higher Education Academy (UK).
Dr. Ashraff has held various positions throughout his career, including working as a Consultant in Diabetes and Endocrinology at James Cook University Hospital, Middlesbrough, UK. During his time there, he led several key services, including community diabetes, bone metabolism, and thyroid eye disease services. Dr. Ashraff's experience also extends to areas such as obesity management, antenatal diabetes services, bone metabolism, thyroid cancer management, and diabetic foot services.
He has made significant contributions to the field of endocrinology through his extensive research and has multiple publications in international peer-reviewed journals, having authored two chapters in renowned international books. Furthermore, he has a keen interest in medical education and holds a PG Certificate in Medical Education from Newcastle University, UK. He actively contributes to medical education as an examiner for the MRCP UK PACES exam and serves on the panel for the MRCP UK part 1 and 2 question writing group.
