Biography

Dr. Marc Francis Sinclair is a distinguished Consultant Pediatric Orthopaedic Surgeon with over 18 years of experience specializing in pediatric orthopedics.

His journey in the field began with his education in Germany and completing his Orthopaedic Residency at Basel University in Switzerland. This was followed by a Clinical Fellowship in Pediatric Orthopaedic Surgery at Harvard Medical School, Boston, USA, under the prestigious Peabody Fellowship. After returning to Germany in 2002 he held the position of Deputy Chief for Pediatric Orthopaedics at the University Children’s Hospital in Hamburg and head of the Limb deformity program.

Since relocating to Dubai in 2006, Dr. Sinclair has become a foundational pillar of pediatric orthopedic care, concentrating on limb deformities, congenital foot deformities, hip surgery, and scoliosis. His clinical excellence is matched by his extraordinary leadership skills, evidenced by his role in founding and steering multiple departments since 2011. As a pioneering member and the first General Secretary of the Middle East Pediatric Orthopaedic Society, Dr. Sinclair led initiatives that significantly enhanced pediatric orthopedic practices across the region.

His dedication to serving underserved communities led to the establishment of The Little Wings Foundation in 2007, providing essential care and surgical missions in the Middle East and North Africa.

Presently, Dr. Sinclair holds esteemed positions as a Consultant Pediatric Orthopaedic and Spine Surgeon at Mediclinic Parkview Hospital and City Hospital in Dubai, Consultant Pediatric Orthopaedic Surgeon at Reem Hospital in Abu Dhabi, and Consultant Pediatric Orthopaedic Surgeon at Medcare Orthopaedic and Spine Hospital in Dubai. Additionally, he generously shares his expertise as a Visiting Consultant Pediatric Orthopaedic Surgeon at the American Hospital in Tbilisi, Georgia.

Dr. Sinclair's previous roles include serving as Head of Children’s Orthopedics and leading the Orthopaedic Surgery department at King’s College Hospital London in Dubai, where he pioneered the development of the first dedicated Pediatric Orthopaedics Center of Excellence in the UAE. Prior to that, he served as Founder and Medical Director at The Children’s Medical Center in Dubai, playing a pivotal role in its establishment, which covered all essential subspecialties in child health with a strong focus on musculoskeletal conditions.

Throughout his career, Dr. Sinclair has remained dedicated to providing exceptional care to his patients while advancing the field of pediatric orthopedics through leadership, innovation, and philanthropy.

Field of Expertise 

• Congenital and acquired foot deformities, clubfoot treatment (Ponseti), vertical talus, other congenital malformations, toe deformities, flatfoot surgery
• Malalignment of the lower extremities such as Knock knees, bowlegs, Blount’s disease, leg length discrepancies, limb deformities, hemimelia, congenital pseudarthrosis of the tibia
• Hip pathologies, hip dysplasia and dislocation, Perthes disease, Slipped Capital femoral epiphysis (SCFE), complex hip reconstruction
• Deformities of the spine, non-surgical and surgical management for scoliosis, sagittal plane deformities (e.g. Kyphosis), Spondylolysis
• Upper extremities including tendon transfers, treatment of congenital malformations to the hand, brachial plexus injuries
• Fractures in children (surgical and non-surgical)
