Dr. Asif Ahmad is a Consultant Anesthesiologist who has joined our team from the Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust in the United Kingdom. He brings with him a wealth of experience, having served as a Consultant in Anesthesiology for the past nine years. Furthermore, he held the esteemed positions of GMC Associate and Medical Examiner during his tenure there.
Dr. Asif earned his MBBS degree from The Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University in India. Following his graduation and internship, he embarked on his anesthesia career in the United Kingdom in 2004. He underwent specialized registrar training in Anesthesia from 2008 to 2013, split between Mersey Deanery in Liverpool (Health Education England) and Wales Deanery (Health Education and Improvement Wales, UK).
After successfully passing the FRCA (Fellowship of the Royal College of Anesthetists) London examinations and completing his training, he was granted the Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in Anesthesia in 2013. Subsequently, he was appointed as a Consultant in Anesthesia at the Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust.
Dr Asif has special interest in Day-case surgeries and has made significant contributions to the successful development and implementation of day-case procedures, such as joint replacement and knee anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction, at Heatherwood Hospital in the UK. Additionally, he has gained valuable experience in setting up and implementing day-case surgeries in various specialties, including Gynecology, General surgery, and Plastic surgery, as well as day-case procedures characterized by high volume and low complexity.
Dr. Asif has been a Fellow of The Royal College of Anesthetists in the UK since 2010. His professional expertise encompasses a wide range of areas, including enhanced recovery and day-case surgeries, regional anesthesia, pre-assessment, peri-operative care, and anesthesia for both adults and pediatrics.
