Symptoms & Causes

Babies and children are susceptible to many illnesses throughout childhood. Many mild symptoms such as a slight fever or tummy upset can be managed at home, but always discuss the best way to manage pediatric symptoms which are causing you concern, with a doctor.

  • Blue or grey skin
  • Confusion or disorientation
  • Constant crying or a different type of cry
  • Convulsion or fit
  • Drier than usual nappies
  • Labored breathing
  • Listlessness or lethargy
  • Not wanting to feed (babies under 3 months)
  • Panting or rapid breathing.

What causes pediatric illnesses?

Almost all children will experience some form of common illness during childhood. This is because they are exposed to lots of different bugs and germs at nursery or school and their immune systems are not yet fully developed.
