Professor Derk Wolfgang Krieger is a distinguished Consultant Neurologist with 30 years of international experience in the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of neurological disorders. Combining academic excellence with a patient-centered approach, he is recognized for his expertise in cognitive neurology, cerebrovascular diseases, neuroimmunology, and precision medicine, delivering evidence-based care tailored to each patient's individual needs.
In addition to having obtained his Doctor of Medicine (MD) and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) Professor Krieger has held academic appointments as Professor of Neurology and Cerebrovascular Diseases. Throughout his career, he has combined clinical practice with research and education, contributing to advances in neuroscience, stroke care, brain health, and personalized neurological medicine.
Prior to joining Re:Cognition Health at Mubadala Health Dubai, Professor Krieger held senior clinical and academic positions internationally, leading multidisciplinary teams in the diagnosis and management of complex neurological conditions.
His work has focused on integrating cutting-edge diagnostics, advanced neuroimaging, biomarkers, and personalized treatment strategies to improve patient outcomes. Most recently, Professor Krieger has focused on advanced diagnostics and treatments for Alzheimer’s Disease and is recognized as a key regional expert in Brain Health, being a regular speaker at both regional and international congresses as well as medical events.
