Biography

Dr.  Seif Sawalha is a highly skilled and experienced upper limb orthopaedic surgeon, specializing in elbow surgery. He has a wealth of experience in the National Health Service (NHS) in the UK, where he served as a consultant for several years before relocating to the UAE in 2022.

Dr. Sawalha began his medical journey at the University of Jordan before embarking on his orthopedic training in the United Kingdom. He completed his basic surgical training in esteemed institutions in London, Liverpool, and the South-West regions. He then furthered his knowledge and skills during his higher surgical training in London and the Eastern regions. During his training, he was fortunate to join a prestigious national program in trauma and orthopaedic surgery on the Liverpool rotation, providing him with invaluable experience in various elbow and shoulder units, including The Royal Liverpool University Hospital. To further enhance his expertise, Dr. Sawalha pursued an advanced elbow surgery fellowship at the renowned Wrightington Hospital in the UK, working alongside esteemed Professor Adam Watts. As a consultant, Dr. Sawalha has successfully treated a wide range of adult and adolescent elbow problems and injuries. His expertise extends to all aspects of elbow care, ensuring comprehensive and effective treatment for his patients.

In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Sawalha has made significant contributions to the field of orthopaedics through his research endeavors. He has published over 50 peer-reviewed publications, presentations, and posters in esteemed British and European conferences. Dr. Sawalha actively participates in specialist international elbow meetings, keeping himself up to date with the latest advancements and techniques in the field. His expertise is highly valued, and he serves as a tutor for the elbow module on the University of Edinburgh's online master's degree course. Furthermore, Dr. Sawalha is invited to review submitted research on elbow topics for the prestigious Bone and Joint Journal.
