Dr. Sami Hassan is a UK-board certified Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon with over 18 years of experience. He is fellowship-trained from prestigious international centers, including the Pulvertaft Hand Centre in Derby and Chelsea & Westminster Hospital in London, United Kingdom. previously, he served as the Clinical Lead for Hand Surgery for Northampton General Hospital NHS Trust, UK.
Dr. Hassan earned his intercalated Bachelor of Medical Sciences (BMedSci) (Hons) and Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) from the University of Sheffield in 2006. He completed his residency in the East Midlands (North) Rotation, where he achieved his FRCS (Tr & Orth) and Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgery. He has been on the GMC Specialist Register since 2017.
Dr. Hassan is among the few surgeons globally and the only one in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region to have completed both the prestigious British Society for Surgery of the Hand (BSSH) Hand Diploma from the University of Manchester and the European Board Hand Surgery Diploma from the Federation of European Societies for Surgery of the Hand (FESSH) in 2019.
Dr. Hassan specializes in the comprehensive spectrum of hand and wrist surgery, including acute fractures of the hand and wrist, carpal and cubital tunnel syndrome, and management of osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis. He also addresses conditions such as Keinbock’s disease, wrist instability, and delayed presentations of injuries, including mal-unions and non-unions of hand and wrist fractures.
With a keen interest in sports injuries and hand and wrist arthroscopy, Dr. Hassan has treated high-level athletes in motor racing, football, and ice hockey.
