Dr. Francois Prunel has been practicing as a general surgeon for twelve years and worked for four years in the digestive, hepato-biliary, and endocrine surgery department at the prestigious Cochin Hospital in the heart of Paris, France, where he gained his expertise in colorectal surgery, endocrine surgery, hepato-biliary surgery and all fields of general surgery including hernias, proctology, upper gastrointestinal (GI) tract, and general surgery emergencies.
He joins us from the Clemenceau Medical Center in Dubai, where he was a Consultant General Surgeon.
Dr. Prunel received his medical degree from Paul Sabatier University in Toulouse, France. His digestive surgery residency was completed at the Blaise Pascal University in Clermont-Ferrand, France, followed by a fellowship at Cochin University Hospital, where he contributed to residents' education and medical training.
He performed operations on over 4,000 patients, treating both benign and malignant digestive diseases. He specializes in common general surgery conditions such as laparoscopic hernia repair, gallbladder disease, pilonidal disease, and abdominoplasty. He also has extensive experience in advanced open, laparoscopic, and robotic procedures, as well as expertise in emergency surgery.
Dr. Prunel has published his study in several medical journals, including the Journal of Visceral Surgery.
He is certified by the French Board of General Surgery and Digestive Surgery.
