Dr. Alero Adjene

Biography

Dr. Alero is Consultant Endocrinologist & Diabetologist with more than 10 years of experience in her field. She has worked at some of London’s most notable centers of endocrinology and is skilled at treating a wide range of endocrine disorders. Her special interests are type 1 diabetes, insulin pump therapy and diabetic foot disease. 

Dr. Alero has worked as a Consultant Endocrinologist & Diabetologist at Imperial College London Diabetes Centre (ICLDC), Abu Dhabi since 2014. She is the Clinical Lead for the ICLDC Adult Insulin Pump Service and the ICLDC Structured Education Program designed for people living with type 1 diabetes. She is an Educational and Clinical supervisor on the ICLDC Diabetes Educator course, the ICLDC Fellowship Training Program and the ICLDC MRCP Exam Preparation course.

She is a Fellow of The Royal College of Physicians, London. She has published in international peer-reviewed journals and presented at international conferences. She is a Clinical Director for the Healthy Athletes Division of the Special Olympics.

• Alero obtained her medical degree from Imperial College London, United Kingdom in 2002. She trained in General Internal Medicine on the Southwest Thames London rotation.
• She completed her specialist training at world-renowned centers of Endocrinology including Hammersmith Hospital, St Mary’s Hospital and Charing Cross Hospital. Dr. Alero received her Certificate of Completion of Training in Diabetes, Endocrinology and General Internal Medicine from the Northwest London Deanery in 2014.
