Dr. Abid Quddus Qazi

Biography

Dr. Abid Quddus Qazi is a highly experienced Consultant Pediatric Surgeon with over 33 years of expertise in General Pediatric Surgery, Pediatric Surgical Oncology, and Pediatric Hepatobiliary Surgery.

He is recognized as the only trained pediatric surgical oncologist in the UAE.

Dr. Qazi obtained his Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree from the University of Peshawar, Pakistan. He then completed rigorous residency training in Pediatric and General Surgery at the Children’s Hospital (Pakistan Institute Medical Sciences), culminating in his recognition as a Fellow of the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Pakistan in 1997. From 2004 to 2011, he practiced in the United Kingdom, where he underwent specialized training in Pediatric Surgery. His dedication led to the attainment of an Intercollegiate Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons (FRCS) in Pediatric Surgery and a Certificate of Eligibility for Specialist Registration (CESR). In 2022, he was further honored with the Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh.

After his training, Dr. Qazi returned to Pakistan, where he served as a Pediatric Oncology Surgeon in a prominent cancer hospital for five years, significantly contributing to the field as a solid tumor surgeon for conditions such as Wilms tumor, neuroblastoma, and liver tumors.

Prior to joining Mubadala Health Dubai, Dr. Qazi was a Consultant Pediatric Surgeon at Al Jalila Children’s Specialty Hospital in Dubai, UAE.

Dr. Qazi was awarded the Tamgha Imtiaz medal by the President of Pakistan.

Dr. Qazi’s scope of practice at Mubadala Health Dubai centers primarily around offering invaluable opinion and consultation services for patients needing further surgical investigations and procedures.

He also performs circumcision.
